Best Mother's Day Brunch in Montgomery County

We tell you the favorites from our Readers' Choice polls from around the county.

It's almost Mother's Day, which means if you actually planned ahead you either have flowers headed to mom's door or are taking her out to a meal.

For nearly two weeks, we asked our Patch readers in Montgomery County to tell us which restaurants were the best within their regions for a meal with mom this Sunday, May 13.

Maybe it's their signature Bloody Mary drinks or brunch burger but in Rockville, Matchbox took the win. But you might have to check them out next time, since manager Steve Hesson said they are "pretty booked."

Readers in Gaithersburg and Germantown think French cuisine is the best for mom when they crowned Crepes-A-Go-Go in the Kentlands the winner with 40 percent of the vote. The Gaithersburg creperie features handmade, made-to-order crepes with fresh fruit and vegetables.

Clyde's of Chevy Chase took the win in Bethesda, Potomac, Chevy Chase and North Potomac with 54 percent of the vote. Mother's Day brunch is the busiest brunch of the year at Clyde's, Tony Moynagh, the restaurant's general manager, said. Between 1,500 and 2,000 people are expected to have brunch or dinner at the Friendship Heights restaurant on Sunday.

Readers from Takoma Park, Kensington, Wheaton and Silver Spring picked Mrs. K’s Toll House as the spot for Mother's Day brunch. The restaurant is offering dinner all day from a fixed menu at $60, but they are almost booked.

Seibel's in Burtonsville was the choice for Colesville Patch readers. They will be serving a brunch featuring desserts and mimosas until 2 p.m. Sunday.
