Gaithersburg Announces CHARACTER COUNTS! Essay, Poster Contest Winners
Mayor Sidney Katz proclaimed the week of Oct. 21-27 to be Character Counts! week in the city of Gaithersburg.
The city of Gaithersburg announced the winners of its 2012 CHARACTER COUNTS! essay and poster contests.
The Adult Heroes in Our Community Essay Contest featured 135 student entrants from six city schools. The contest was open to area elementary and middle school students. Students wrote about a local “hero” and the values and ethics that person exemplifies.
The five winners are:

The poster contest featured 890 entrants from seven Gaithersburg schools. It was open to all students in Gaithersburg-area elementary and middle schools.
