With a little help from the community, wedding bells could be ringing sooner than anticipated for a Lakelands Park Middle School teacher and her fiancé.

Stacy Bureau, a health teacher at the Gaithersburg middle school, and her fiancé, John, are finalists in Mix 107.3's "My Wedding In A Week" contest, along with four other couples. 

The contest winners receive a $50,000 wedding, planned by Washington Bridal Showcase, but there is a catch: There is only one week to plan the wedding from the end of voting.

"This is so exciting," Bureau told Patch in an email. "Winning would be amazing, of course, but to see how much support we've received from our family, friends, and community has been an indescribable feeling. We are already so lucky to have so many supportive people in our lives, to win this would be an added bonus."

Bureau said she had to submit an email story to Mix 107.3 for the chance to be selected as one of the finalists. The couple found got word on Friday they had been selected.

Voting is open on Mix 107.3's website through Jan. 17, and listeners can vote as many times as they want, Bureau said.
