Local music from Adult Situation
A local band by the name Adult Situation is creating a new sound for the Gaithersburg music scene.
Gaithersburg is not generally known as a party scene, but one band, Adult Situation, is trying to change that.
Made up mostly of Gaithersburg natives, Adult Situation has a distinct and unique sound—blending hip-hop, reggae and classic rock.
Adult Situation is made up of brothers Austin Litz (woodwinds/vocals /keyboard), Mike Litz (drums), and Logan Litz (bass), along with Marc Mann (vocals/freestyle rap), Justin Robb (guitar/vocals), and Karl Nana (percussion).

The band was formed in a spur-of-the-moment circumstance.
“We formed the band randomly and not knowing we would stick together," said Austin Litz. "Someone came to my brother to put together a band for a rooftop party in Arlington, Virginia (playing over the DC skyline was awesome!) and he put together Adult Situation.”

Adult Situation’s music appeals to a younger crowd. With an energetic and skillful blend of musical styles, the band chronicles the local area with their song “MoCo (Where I Belong)”.
Adult Situation maintains a unique sound throughout all of their songs, but the band’s originals show their true talent. Vocals are not the only strong point of the band; instrumentally every member displays their musical strengths. Solos, vocal rapping and melodic intertwining of all instrumental parts help to emphasize Adult Situation’s sound.
“Adults Only Vol. 1” is Adult Situation’s debut album. Released July 27, 2010 it is available on iTunes and Amazon.
Their second album, “Adult Situation – The Music Collection” was released earlier this month, is available on iTunes and features an impressive 40 songs.
If you’re looking for a band that’ll get people moving to book for an upcoming event/party, Adult Situation is the way to go. Their latest show at Austin Grille in Rockville had everyone rocking out to the music.
