On The Agenda: Hydraulic Fracturing Presentation
The Gaithersburg mayor and City Council will meet for a work session at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
The Gaithersburg mayor and City Council will host Drew Cobbs of the Maryland Petroleum Council and Jorge Aguilar of Food & Water Watch for a presentation on hydraulic fracturing at Monday evening's work session.
Hydraulic fracturing, commonly known as “fracking,” is a method of releasing substances, such as petroleum, from between layers of rock, according to city documents.
Cobbs and Aguilar will discuss the technique at the request of Mayor Sidney A. Katz and the City Council.

Well i hope it is just for information. Fracking is a very dirty process that contaminates ground water, streams, watersheds, etc....
A great documentary called "Gaslands" is out that looks into fracking, the pollution and shows the horrors that come from raping the Earth.
