The Focus venues (held at church coffeehouses in Rockville and Alexandria) offer nationally touring folk performers in intimate, friendly environments -- inexpensive tickets (with no service charges), plus tasty homemade snacks.

I prefer the smaller venues, which offer more opportunities for interaction with the performers. For me, that would be the Focus Music venues!

I love FOCUS venues, especially Rockville's! Don't forget about house concerts, including Folk 'N Great Music & Moore Music in the House in Montgomery County...

I agree with the 5 comments posted above. I much prefer smaller venues such as FOCUS and house concerts. It's especially nice when it's mostly acoustic and "up close and personal."

While I like the one Blackrock theater with the seats in an arc and a balcony, the other one used Thursday night is awful. I also like the Focus Music Rockville small venue and nominate it. But I mostly go to House concerts which are the most intimate.
