School Bus Crash Near Clopper Road Sends 10 To Hospital

Fire and rescue spokesman: One adult suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision on Game Preserve Road.

A crash involving a county school bus and several vehicles on Friday afternoon in Gaithersburg sent 10 people to the hospital, including one with life-threatening injuries, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said.

The school bus was carrying seven students from Germantown's Clopper Mill Elementary School, said Dana Tofig, a Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman.

Seven children and two adults were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Assistant Chief Scott Graham, a county Fire and Rescue Service spokesman, tweeted.

"We don't believe there are any serious injuries [to students]," Tofig said. "Some students may have been taken for evaluation at the hospital for precaution."

The adult suffering life-threatening injuries was not from the school bus, according to Graham.

Tofig said he believed the crash involved two vehicles and "one of them went off and hit our bus."

If it was on Game Preserve Road between 355 and Clopper, that is a very dangerous winding road that is one car wide in some places, and you can't see oncoming traffic.

yes (to Daria), but also to make matters worse, many drivers are way over the speed limit for the road & have a tendency to drive down the middle of the road.
