VIDEO: Gaithersburg High School Science Class Experiments With Harlem Shake
Students in a Gaithersburg High School environmental science class created a dance-video to Baauer’s “Harlem Shake.”
Chances are you've heard the first 30 seconds of Baauer’s “Harlem Shake,” even if you haven't heard the whole song. It's one of the most popular songs on iTunes this month but it's also the latest viral dance craze on YouTube.
Judging by the videos online, there are no special moves—or talent required—to make a "Harlem Shake" dance-video.
A Gaithersburg High School environmental science class made its own rendition of the popular video, posted to YouTube on Feb. 20 by user Courtney Mason, a teacher in the school's science department.
There are several versions claiming to be the original, so many that it's hard to tell which video was the first.

Very good harlem shake. I liked it when they brought out the skeleton to do it with them.

STOP THE MADNESS !! These videos and music have no connection to the REAL Harlem Shake. See the YouTube video ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5m6sJCbZEkAll ) that keeps it real. Harlemites know this. Even the NY Times ( It's a Worldwide Dance Craze, But It's Not the Real Harlem Shake ) knows it's a rip-off by culture vampires trying to make a buck or for 15 minutes of phony fame. Okay, do enjoy the REAL Harlem Shake --- shake it 'til you break it --- without looking like twitching zombies having a crack seizure. See the New York Times link and REAL Harlem Shake videos ( www.nytimes.com/2013/03/01/nyregion/behind-harlem-shake-craze-a-dance-thats-over-a-decade-old.html?pagewanted=all ). --- JUST KEEPIN' IT REAL !!

You do understand the concept behind the word entertainment? The harlem shake videos that are out there are purely for entertainment value who cares if they are not from or in concert with the City of Harlem, and for your educational purpose this all started in Australia. See here for historical purposes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlem_Shake_(meme)
