Toby Rabbin, director of bereavement for Hospice Caring Inc., will be wearing something bright and spring-like when she walks down the runway April 21 in the nonprofit’s fashion show.

The show will feature clothing and accessories from the Alicia L. store in Frederick.  Alicia L. sells classic clothing with an edge for all ages. Items in the show are priced between $29 and $250, said the store’s Pat Latkovski.

Rabbin, 56, of Olney and her daughters, Erica, 27, and Beth, 30, visited the store April 1 to pick out what they will wear in the show.

Since 2004, Rabbin has been Hospice Caring’s director of bereavement, managing eight to 10 weekly support groups for adults, Good Grief Clubs in Montgomery County public schools for children and an after-school grief relief program for families.

Her background is in communications. She became a Hospice Caring volunteer eight years ago.

“I was not working in 2003 and heard about Hospice Caring at a Sherwood [High School] PTSA meeting and thought it was something I could do.”

Last year Erica persuaded her mother that modeling in the fashion show was something fun they could do together. This year Beth will join them on the runway.

The fashion show will be held 1-4 p.m. at the Hospice Caring cottage, 518 South Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg. The afternoon will also feature music, food, door prizes and raffles.

Ticket sales and a percentage of the proceeds will benefit Hospice Caring’s many programs.
