Loving the Good Life farm

One of my favorite weekly traditions has been driving to the Good Life Farm which is straight up Rt 28.    My personal veggie favorite is the ufo squash. My foster mom grates it and adds it to scrambled eggs.  And the fresh eggs are great too!  My new favorite is their offering of fresh meat.  Roast!  Can't wait to smell it cooking in the kitchen.

Can you remember the days when Gaithersburg was filled with farms?  So wonderful to get local fresh produce!  My foster family purchased 10 CSA shares from the Good Life Farm.  Every week they receive an email highlighting weekly offerings and almost every weekend we drive to pick up a share.  Farmer Larry greets me and holds my leash while my foster mom takes her bags and fills them up with the weekly offerings.  The Good Life Farm web site lists over 100 different herbs, fruits, and veggies that they've grown.  Farmer Larry and his wife Laura are really experts!  They are friendly and helpful too. I often hear Farmer Larry and Laura giving my foster mom advice and suggestions for different recipes.

Their farm stand is open today from 2-5pm.  Even if you don't have a CSA Farm Share you can come to buy local corn, tomatoes, kale, and lots of other things.  They always have a nice variety.  It's a little bit north of where Germantown Road (Rt 118) intersects Rt 28.
