Flu Outbreak Sends Gaithersburg Seniors To Hospital

More than a dozen seniors from assisted living center put in hospital since April 27, according to The Gazette.

Flu season may be over but more than a dozen residents at a Gaithersburg assisted living center have been taken to the hospital since April 27 for feeling the effects of the illness, according to a report by The Gazette.

There have been only three recorded incidents of the Influenza-A, the report states, but health officials have found more than 25 cases of acute respiratory illness among the 126 residents at Kindley Assisted Living, part of the senior community Asbury Methodist Village.

David Denton, executive director of Asbury, told The Gazette no residents at Asbury have died this year as a result of the flu.
