Mother’s Day Car Wash, Montgomery Village Tennis Tournament and More in Montgomery County this Weekend

Montgomery Village Tennis Tournament

• Where:  North Creek Community Center, 20125 Arrowhead Rd, Montgomery Village
• When:  Saturday, May 11, all day
• Description:  Men, women and juniors are invited to dominate the courts. First matches will be based on self-ranking; seeding for subsequent elimination rounds will be made by staff following observations and results of the first day. Individuals will be given three good-weather days to set up matches between opponents on weekday evenings or weekend days. The final day will feature a Strawberries and Cream Social, where trophies will be awarded to the winners.

Wildlife Rescue at the Maryland Science Center

• Where:  601 Light St, Baltimore
• When:  Saturday, May 11
• Description:  Wildlife Rescue lets young rescuers experiment with puppets, costumes and the techniques used to teach animals survival skills, which often results in groups of animals or entire species being saved. In the exhibit, interactive activities such as crawling through a turtle culvert, comparing one’s weight to a panda’s and simulating flying with a Whooping Crane and feeding a baby California Condor give visitors a look at the important task of preserving Earth’s wildlife.

Mother's Day Car Wash - Fundraiser

• Where:  11433 Rockville Pike, Rockville
• When:  Saturday, May 11, 9 a.m.
• Description:   United Capital Blades Speedskating Club is hosting a support youth athletes at this fundraising car wash.
• Cost: Free

Rocklands Farm Market

• Where:  14525 Montevideo Rd, Poolesville
• When:  Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m.
• Description:  Rocklands Farm hosts a Farmers Market selling grass-fed and pastured meets and organic produce.
• Cost: Free

Campfire and Nature Walk

• Where:   Locust Grove Nature Center, 7777 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda
• When:  Friday, M ay 10, 6:30 p.m.
• Description:  Campfire picnic followed by an evening nature walk.  Visitors are invited to bring hotdogs, rolls and enjoy s’mores provided by Locust Grove Nature Center.
• Cost: $5
