Report: Changes Coming For Kentlands Market Square Fountain

By the end of August, it will be a fountain no more.

The Kentlands Market Square fountain—which has been in a state of disrepair for more than two years—will be a fountain no more by the end of August, The Town Courier reports.

Plans are in place to turn the fountain, located at 506 Main St., into a planter, according to the report. The fountain's bowl will be filled with with dirt and a variety of plants, completing a renovation plan approved by the city of Gaithersburg.

“With the new plan, it will be a nice visual amenity when we’re done,” Steve Eckart of Classic Communities, owner of the office building and the fountain, told The Town Courier.
