American Red Cross Blood Drive - All Donors Get Free Yoga Class

  • Description:  2nd blood drive with the American Red Cross.  All donors who sign up to donate will receive 1 free yoga class to be used by September 31 and one lucky donor will receive 1 free month of yoga.

Speed and Pressure Exhibit

  • Where:  VisArts, 155 Gibbs St, Rockville
  • When:  Reception: Friday, May 31, 7 p.m. Regular Gallery Hours: Wednesday 12–4 p.m., Thursday & Friday 12–8 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 12–4 p.m.
  • Description:  An investigation of how speed and pressure shape contemporary drawing as an activity and an idea. Rockville Science Center Explorations Field Trip: Storm Water Management and Water Quality Protection Sites Field Trip

  • When:  Saturday, June 1, 9:30 a.m.
  • Description:  Storm Water Management field trip that will help participants gain an understanding of basic principles of environmental science and engineering practices used throughout the Metropolitan region to protect property and water quality in suburban setting from recurring flooding, as applied by the Environmental Division, Dept of Public Works.
  • Cost:  Free

Web.com Tour - Mid-Atlantic Championship

  • Where:  10000 Oaklyn Dr, Potomac
  • When:  Thursday, May 30 – Sunday, June 2, 7 a.m.  – 6 p.m.
  • Description:  The Mid-Atlantic Championship is a premier stop on the Web.com Tour taking place at TPC Potomac at Avenel. This tournament also features junior golf clinics, military appreciation, live entertainment, and so much more. All military and kids 18 and under get in free.
  • Cost: $10 (military and kids 18 and under: free)

Learn to Speedskate--Potomac Speedskating Club

  • Where:  10610 Westlake Dr, Rockville
  • When:  Friday, May 31, 9 p.m.
  • Description:  The Potomac Speedskating Club, coached by Olympic champion Ji-hoon Chae, welcomes skaters ages 5 and up to join the team. Bike helmet is required.   
  • Cost:  Free Trial Lesson.  (Cost of summer camps and mini-camps available during free trial lesson).

Model Grand Opening at Crown

  • Where:  10000 Fields Rd, Gaithersburg
  • When:   Saturday, June 1, 12 – 4 p.m.
  • Description:  Help celebrate the grand opening of Pulte Home and KB Home new models.  There will be food, music, free BBQ lunch, beer tasting, Baskin Robins sundae bar, a pastry chef and caricature artist.  Visitors may enter for a chance to win a free iPad mini.

Take Me Fishing at Seneca Creek State Park

  • Where:  Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Rd, Gaithersburg
  • When:  Saturday, June 1, 9:30 a.m.
  • Description:  Participants of all ages are invited to join expert fisherman for a beginner's course in fishing.  Visitors may bring their own rod and reel or one will be supplied.  Meet at the Boat Center.  June 1 only is free fishing day for all; on other dates participants 16 years and older must possess a valid non-tidal fishing license. Purchase a license online here. 
  • Cost:  $5

Pontoon Boat Tours at Seneca Creek State Park

  • Where:  Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Rd, Gaithersburg
  • When:  Saturday, June 1, 1 p.m.   
  • Description:  Visitors are invited to join a Park Ranger for a guided exploration of Clopper Lake aboard the pontoon boat "Blue Heron."  Visitors will learn about the birds, fish and mammals which call the lake home.
  • Cost:  $5

Big Nate: A World Premiere Musical

  • Where:  7300 Macarthur Blvd, Glen Echo
  • When:  Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m.
  • Description:  Musical based on the comic strip and books by Lincoln Peirce, Book by Jason Loewith, Lyrics by Chris Youstra & Jason Loewith.
  • Cost: $19

Cinderella

  • Where:  Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo
  • When:  Thursdays and Fridays, 10 & 11:30 a.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
  • Description:  The classic tale of Cinderella set in 17th century France told with puppets. Recommended for ages K-6. 
  • Cost: $10

Laugh Riot at the Hyatt

  • Where:  Hyatt Regency Bethesda, 1 Bethesda Metro Ctr, Bethesda
  • When:  Saturday, June 1, 8 p.m.
  • Description:  3 local comics perform, $25 cash prize joke contest for non-com audience members after the show.
  • Cost: $10
