25th Annual Juried Art Exhibition comes to Kentlands Mansion

The City of Gaithersburg and the Gaithersburg Fine Arts Association (GFAA) present the 25th Annual Juried Art Exhibition,  from April 1 to May 30, 2011.

The public is invited to an artists’ reception and awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 5 from 7 to 8:30 pm.  The juror, nationally-known artist Michael Sellmeyer, is an Associate Professor of Art at Montgomery College.

The GFAA provides a forum for members to collaborate on activities that expand on their individual artistic backgrounds.  The group provides educational programs, promotional opportunities, and outreach to local audiences and the broader artistic community.  Every year, they collaborate with the local community to put on a weekend show of local adult and student art.  Founded in 1970, GFAA has grown to more than 70 members, many of whom regularly exhibit their work, actively teach, or contribute to Montgomery County arts events.  The juried art exhibits are gaining positive attention and comments from past attendees. Several members are active art instructors or former art teachers in Montgomery County Public Schools.
