2nd Annual Maryland Festival of the Arts

On October 13-14, 2012 Downtown Silver Spring welcomes back the 2nd Annual Maryland Festival of the Arts.  Join us as national and international artists converge on Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring to offer residents and visitors a visually-stunning palette of original, hand-crafted artwork.   View and purchase spectacular creations by painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers, digital artists, glass, fiber and ceramic artisans; also artwork in mixed-media, metal, and wood. Discover that perfect piece to beautify your home and office - to enrich your life!

As the coolness and beauty of autumn washes over Maryland, come relax and experience the Maryland Festival of the Arts where more than 10,000 pieces of extraordinary original art will be offered.  Many of these nationally- and internationally-acclaimed artisans are represented in major museums and prestigious private collections throughout the world.  Each artist is selected by a jury of fine art professionals based on the quality and originality of their work. Artists are available throughout the event allowing you to meet and talk with each, learning how they became artists and your specific pieces created.  This adds inestimable value to the artwork you chose.

The art festival runs Saturday October 13th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday October 14th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free with abundant free garage parking surrounding the Festival site.  The event is conveniently located but a short walk from the Red Line Silver Spring Metro Station.
