The City of Gaithersburg and the Kentlands Community Foundation are now accepting applications for the 8th Annual Young Artist Award competition and concert.
All budding young musicians between the ages of 12 and 18 are invited to apply. Participants may apply as vocal soloist, wind/brass soloist, string soloist or piano soloist. First, second, third and honorable mention prizes may be awarded in each category.
This competition will be judged in a closed audition on Saturday, January 29, 2011. Winners will be notified by phone within one day of the competition and a letter will be sent within seven business days. All participants will receive feedback from the jurors. Top prize winners will be presented in the Young Artist Award Concert on Saturday, February 26, 2011.
