The city of Gaithersburg released the following news this week:

Saying “I Do” Made Easy at Kentlands Mansion Fall Bridal Showcase

Plan your dream wedding all in one place. The Kentlands Mansion Fall Bridal Showcase takes place on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from noon to 4 p.m.  Gaithersburg’s elegant 19th century estate provides the perfect setting to start your wedding planning process or finish up the final touches to your special day. The Mansion is located at 320 Kent Square Road in Gaithersburg.

Attendees can:

  • Enjoy delicious cuisine from the area's finest caterers.

Get Crafty, Make New Friends at Arts Barn

The City of Gaithersburg invites gal pals to “Girls Night Out,” a new workshop series featuring unique jewelry and ornament making in a social atmosphere at the Arts Barn. Bring a friend or come solo as you learn how to create one of a kind holiday gifts and decorations while enjoying the company of other crafty women. No experience is necessary. Ladies are welcome to bring a favorite bottle of wine to share or purchase wine and treats from the Arts Barn Pub. 

Workshops will be held on various Fridays from Oct. 5 through Dec. 14 and cost $46 for city residents ($50 for non-Gaithersburg residents).

Songs & Stories Delight Preschoolers at Arts Barn

The Arts Barn will once again host an exciting and enriching cultural arts program for children. Preschool Songs and Stories gives 3 to 5 year olds and their parents or guardians the opportunity to explore the arts through singing, dancing and active listening to story books. 

Preschool Songs and Stories will take place the first and third Thursday of each month from 11 to 11:45 a.m. through June 6, 2013. Admission is $3 per child per session. There is no fee for adults. Payment may be made at the door.
