Photography and Watercolor Exhibit on Display at Arts Barn

The Arts Barn is preparing to launch a new art exhibit, just in time for the holiday season.

The city of Gaithersburg presents an exhibit featuring the photography of Howard Clark, Phil Fabrizio and Richard Weiblinger, and watercolors by Vian Shamounki Borchert and her students at the Arts Barn Gallery, from Nov. 21, through Jan. 21.

Howard Clark was a travel photographer for a 10-year period ending in early 2011, with a digital archive covering no fewer than 15 cities in Asia, 30 cities in Europe, and countless locations across the United States and Canada. Nearer to home, he favors landscapes and architecture, animals and flowers, monuments and night scenes.  He especially enjoys producing broad panoramas that may include up to 100 individual exposures stitched together by computer software.

Phil Fabrizio is a freelance event and sports portrait photographer who lives in North Potomac and has operated Sugarloaf Photography since 1985. His photography is in homes throughout North Potomac, Gaithersburg, Germantown and the greater D.C. metro area, where he has photographed hundreds of weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs.  He began concentrating on news event photography in 2003.

Richard Paul Weiblinger is an accomplished and completely self-taught creative artist. He is an avid photographer who transforms everyday objects into images that progress from "everyday" to art, revealing nature’s subtle elegance.  His favorite themes include vibrant flowers, unique still lifes, colorful maritime images, scenery, and wildlife. 

Vian Shamounki Borchert is an award-winning contemporary artist who has shown both internationally and nationally. Her work is featured in the permanent collections of The National Gallery of Art in Amman, Jordan and The Jerusalem Fund Gallery in Washington, D.C.
