Coming Soon to Germantown: Smashburger

Fast-casual burger boutique set to open next week.

Germantown’s boutique burger options just got broader: Smashburger is set to open Oct. 23 at the Shoppes at Seneca Meadows—the shopping center anchored by Wegmans.

Unlike its more urbanized Dupont Circle location in DC, the Germantown Smashburger is expected to be “more family oriented and suburban” with “locally influenced touches,” a spokesperson for Smashburger tells Patch.

Smashburger is Denver-based, fast-casual chain named for its burger-making process: “smashing” and searing seasoned burger meat to order, according to the chain’s website. Burgers are in the $5-$7 range and includes a truffle mushroom swiss burger for those who don’t eat meat.

Smashburger’s opening comes at the heels of Kraze Burger's arrival in Town Center, at Elevation Burger’s old digs.

Bethesda Magazine reports that another Smashburger is slated to open in Bethesda in December—what would be the chain’s fourth outlet in the DC-metro region.
