If a mouse gets a cookie...that mouse could close down the bakery.

The owner of Bethesda's Cookies by Design cookie shop has had her franchise agreement revoked because of a WUSA9 report on a mouse infestation at the bakery, the station reported.

Cookies by Design National President Jack Long told WUSA9 he revoked the owner's franchise following the report, saying he was "appalled that an owner could allow this to happen."

Three sides:

Two new shops—one selling wine and the other selling frozen yogurt—opened on Tuesday, April 9, in the Costco wing of the Westfield Wheaton mall, Wheaton Patch reported.

Choice Wine & Beer (not to be confused with the Choice Beer & Wine in Rockville) is owned by Silver Spring resident Kirti Patel, who also owns the Quiznos across from the Giant at Westfield Wheaton.

"I thought this was a good opportunity, with Costco opening nearby," Patel told Wheaton Patch. The wines range in price from $6 to $50.

Anyone with a taste for specialty coffee drinks can find a corporate-owned java spot in most neighborhoods, but Silver Spring's Zed's Cafe attracts people who want something more than the repetitive look and feel of a chain operation, Silver Spring Patch reported:

When Zed Mekonnen first opened his cafe in June of 2011, he mostly served coffee and tea. Now, there is a menu of breakfast breads, sandwiches and salads to go with the specialty drinks. The menu evolved from meals he made for himself.

If you've crossed off the Old Angler's Inn in Potomac, you might want to rethink the place.

Earlier this week, Tom Sietsema—dining critic for The Washington Post—published a favorable review of the restaurant, which has been revamped in recent years.

Dessert:

Kentlands-based chocolatier SPAGnVOLA will open a second location in May at Lakeforest Mall, Gaithersburg Patch reported.
