Kentlands Business Update: Boutique Closing, Cafe Changes Owners and More

Changes are coming for three Kentlands businesses, The Town Courier reports.

A Kentlands children's boutique will close while one restaurant changes ownership and another plans to expand, The Town Courier reports.

Green Jeans New and Recycled Children’s Boutique announced a mid-July closure on its Facebook page, citing "circumstances beyond our control." A Facebook post Monday morning confirmed the store is in it's final week.

Kentlands Cafe, located at 11 Arch Place in The Colonnade, is under new ownership, according to The Town Courier.

Konstantine Kotchadze—originally from Russia but raised in Rockville and Potomac—reopened the cafe a few weeks ago and told The Town Courier business is doing very well.

“So far, most of our business is from residents of the Colonnade,” Kotvhadze said, according to the report.

Joining Kentlands Cafe with good news is Peppers/Monsoon Kitchen, which announced plans to open a second location in the former Popcorn Mama retail space adjacent to the Star Diner, according to The Town Courier.

The second location, just across from the restaurant’s 251 Market Street space, will feature a more upscale menu, including "high end items and fancy coffee shop beverages," owner Mike Bhatnagar said, according to the report.
