Photo of the Day: NYAJ's Increases Gift to Kentlands Community

New Kentlands restaurant Not Your Average Joe's gift to the Kentlands Community Foundation now tops $5,000, one of the largest in KCF's history.

Upon making its arrival in the Kentlands, Not Your Average Joe's (NYAJ) presented Kentlands Community Foundation (KCF) chairman Glen Palman with a $4,200 donation, one of the biggest in the organization's history.

On Saturday, July 21, that donation grew bigger.

As part of a series of dinners for which patrons check were earmarked for the KCF, NYAJ upped its donation to the community organization to $5,125, according to a news release.

Carrie Dietz, Executive Director of the Kentlands Community Foundation, noted that the gift was the largest received by the organization during her time there.

“We are so excited about our new relationship with Not Your Average Joe's and are very grateful for their generosity," Dietz said in a statement.

NYAJ founder and president Steve Silverstein said the restaurant has been welcomed with open arms in the weeks since it opened at 245 Kentlands Boulevard.

“We really want to thank everyone in Kentlands for making us feel so welcome," Silverstein said in a statement. "Since we opened on July 4, we’ve had the opportunity to serve our new friends and they have been uniformly appreciative of the food, the service, and the atmosphere."
