It's the cornerstone of his on-stage act, which focuses 90 percent on audience engagement. He asked audiences Sunday in Timonium to question his future platforms when he runs for president. He's banned in most sports leagues because of athletic prowess. And for kicks, he called me an arrogant photographer—but that's another story.

When Friedlander delivers joke after joke, his timing is well-paced, confident and subtle. But underneath the brim of a custom-made hat embroidered with, of course—the phrase "World Champion" written in brail—Friedlander's brain is moving a full steam ahead.

Every show is different and at least 20 different audience members became part of his act last Sunday.
