5 Useful Things To Know Today: June 12

Five things to help you through your Tuesday.

1. There's a small, 20 percent chance of rain lingering over what should be a relatively nice day. High temperatures are expected to be around 81 degrees and some clouds should hide the sun for parts of the day.

2. Today is the last day of school for all MCPS students. Congratulations to all the recent graduates and to those who successfully finished another year.

3. On other Patches: An adult male pedestrian was struck by a CSX train near the intersection of Nebel Street and Randolph Road in North Bethesda on Monday night. .

4. In case you missed it:  fourth graders displayed original nature photographs and collages Saturday at the Washingtonian Center. .

5. On this day in history: Sir Barton won the Belmont Stakes, becoming the first horse to capture the Triple Crown in 1919. Seattle Slew became the second to last horse to accomplish the feat the same day in 1977.
