Temperatures could soar into the mid-nineties.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory and a code orange air quality alert from noon today until 8 p.m. for Montgomery and surrounding counties.

Temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-nineties, but the heat index will make it feel like 105 degrees.

A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations in the area may be unhealthy for highly sensative groups, such as children, people suffering from asthma or other lung and respiratory disease, or the elderly.

If you are part of one of these groups, the NWS advises staying indoors and avoiding strenuous activity today.
