NWS Issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch

The watch is until 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Montgomery County until 10 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, NWS said.

The primary threat with these storms include extremely heavy rain, large hail, lightning, and isolated tornadoes, according to NWS.

A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for storms that can occasionally produce tornadoes in the affected area. Residents should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings, NWS said.
