UPDATE: Quake Damages Kentlands Mansion
Minor cracks visible after the largest quake felt in the DC metropolitan region in more than 100 years.
The sustained some minor damage from the magnitude that shook the entire DC metropolitan area yesterday afternoon.
"There are two cracks on the front porch. They do not present a trip hazard," City communications director Britta Monaco said in an email.
There is also a crack in the third-floor ceiling, but she said it didn't appear to need immediate attention.

Staff will do a further evaluation of the damage.
Michele Potter, director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, said city buildings were not evacuated during or after the temblor. She also said the city had not confirmed the cracks in the Kentlands Mansion were a result of the quake.

The mansion was built in 1900.
After the quake yesterday, which struck minutes before 2 p.m. and which emanated from Mineral, VA, facilities and public works crews quickly evaluated all city buildings and structures for damage.
Monaco said the only damage they found was at the Mansion.
A loose brick on the interior of the was dislodged.
"The City is responsible for maintenance of several state-regulated dams within our municipal boundaries. These dams were inspected and no damage was reported," the city said in a statement posted on their website.
Dan Lane, a spokesman for the , said there were no reported injuries as a result of the quake.
