Van Hollen Endorses Leggett for County Executive

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking his third term in office.

Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen has endorsed Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett in his bid for re-election.

Van Hollen said in an emailed announcement Thursday:

“As we move into the future, Montgomery County continues to need a visionary and principled leader who can deliver results. Our County Executive, Ike Leggett, has demonstrated that, time and again, he is that leader.”

Leggett is seeking his third term in office. He face challenges from Montgomery County Councilman Phil Andrews and from his predecessor Doug Duncan.

Duncan was county executive from 1994 to 2006. Andrews has been on the Montgomery County Council since 1998.
