Frederick Housing Market Tops ‘Back to Normal’ List

Trulia recently released a list of housing markets that are considered ‘back to normal’. As more markets return to pre-recession levels, it could indicate that the national housing market is nearing normalcy as well.  Best of all, the Bethesda-Rockville-Frederick, MD metro area was considered amongst the top ten.  This is exciting news to hear for Villages of Urbana and Frederick residents alike!

The top ten markets that are considered ‘back to normal’ have a few things in common:  Many of them weren’t the worst hit markets during the housing crisis, but they still felt the effects.  Because of this, the Bethesda-Rockville-Frederick market hasn’t had the huge surge in home prices – this only means the region didn’t have too much ground to recover.

Either way, it’s reassuring to know that this area’s housing market is back on track.  And, better yet, after the news broke about the Frederick area’s stable housing market, Business Insider announced the top 10 housing markets that are expected to be ‘hot’ in 2014 – and our region was yet again recognized!

Business Insider goes on to state, “these Washington, D.C. suburban metro areas are the third strongest market in the country” and that “demand is way up” for new homes.  It comes as no surprise that Villages of Urbana is nestled in this booming metro area. With communities like ours, more and more homeowners have reason to buy a home in the Frederick region.  And as the economy recovers and mortgage rates and home prices improve, 2014 could be the right year for anyone to buy a home.
