Community Corner

FUNdraiser for the Homeless at California Pizza Kitchen

Enjoy good food for a good cause when you have lunch or dinner at the Gaithersburg California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) on Thursday, May 19, 2011. Twenty percent of your check will be donated to the Friends of Wells/Robertson House, Inc. (FWRH), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping break the cycle of homelessness and addiction within our community while bringing hope, dignity, and purpose to the lives of vulnerable individuals.

No reservations are necessary, but a flyer must be shown to have your purchases count towards the donation.  The flyer can be downloaded online at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/communityservices.  The promotion applies to dine-in, take-out catering orders, or curbside service.  CPK is located at 136 Boardwalk Place in the Washingtonian Center, just off I-270 at Sam Eig Highway.

FWRH supports, independently and collaboratively, a continuum of prevention and intervention programs to reduce chronic addiction and homeless in the Gaithersburg community.  Its primary beneficiary is Wells/Robertson House, a transitional program for up to 14 homeless men and women in recovery, operated by the City of Gaithersburg.
