Gaithersburg HELP Awarded $30,000 Grant

Bank of America Charitable Foundation gave more than $430,000 in grants to local nonprofits, including Gaithersburg HELP.

Bank of America Charitable Foundation donated a $30,000 critical needs grant to Gaithersburg HELP, the foundation announced Wednesday.

Gaithersburg HELP provides food, medical prescriptions, infant needs, transportation for medical services and financial assistance to prevent eviction or utility cutoff. Last year Gaithersburg HELP provided food to 3,773 families, and diapers to nearly 1,200 babies.

The foundation announced Wednesday that it had awarded $435,000 in grants to nonprofits throughout the Washington, DC-region. Earlier this year, the foundation awarded $540,000 to local organizations.
