The city of Gaithersburg released the following news:

Gaithersburg Announces New “Green Streets”

The city of Gaithersburg announces the selection of three roads for Green Street construction:

  • Victory Farm Drive west of the intersection of Victory Farm Drive and Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard
  • Dosh Drive west of the intersection of Dosh Drive and Midline Road
  • Cedar Avenue northeast of the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Winnie Place

Construction will begin on May 22, 2013, weather permitting. After completion, each project will be thoroughly evaluated for effectiveness; the results will be incorporated in future projects.

Gaithersburg Water Park Opens for Season on May 25

Splash into summer at the Gaithersburg Water Park. The season begins at noon on Saturday, May 25, and continues through Labor Day. It is located within Bohrer Park near the Skate Park, Miniature Golf Course and Activity Center at 512 South Frederick Avenue.

The Water Park’s resort-style main pool features palm trees, multiple water slides, six lap lanes, a variety of play features, and a zero-depth entry, making it accessible to all. The main attraction is the 250-foot long double-flume slide, where swimmers can choose between a fast or mellow ride down a 38-foot tower. A splash pool for little ones includes open and closed flume slides, play features, fountains, and sprays.

Bargains Galore at Outdoor Flea Market

 

Hunt for bargains and discover attic treasures at the City of Gaithersburg's Outdoor Flea Market on Saturday, June 29, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Montgomery County Agricultural Center, located at 16 Chestnut Street in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Admission is free to the public. Come discover great deals on gently-used or new clothes, household items, crafts, collectibles, and more.

Space is still open for vendors interested in selling gently-used or new items. The cost is $15 per space for City of Gaithersburg residents, $20 per space for nonresidents. Vendors must provide their own tables and chairs and may purchase more than one space.
