Hebrew Home...After 100 Years Still Leading the Way Innovation.

Sr. Gerontology Specialst Julie Elseroad pays a visit to the Dekelboum Therapy Center at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington and gets a first hand look into cutting edge technologies in therapy.

Visiting Angels would like to congratulate the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington for their, stunning and beautiful, new Dekelboum Therapy Center.  Carmen Birdsall and I were privileged to have been invited to an open house, at the Hebrew Home, on July 11, 2012.

There, we were treated to a special tour of the new lobby, café, beauty salon and fabulous, state-of-the-art Dekelboum Therapy Center.  The Hebrew Home, itself,is a fixture in the community as it has been serving patients, without regard to religious affiliation, for over 100 years!

The spacious Dekelboum Therapy Center is colorful and bright.  There is plenty of room and special attention is given to ensure each patient’s privacy during challenging rehabilitation therapies.  For example, there is private modality suite and a private treatment area for speech and language.  The Center is on the  utting edge of dysphasia therapy with a Vital Stim machine used to stimulate the muscles and nerves in the throat to help retrain the throat for swallowing.

The Event was well-attended by patients as well as those of us in the business of
aging.  There were wonderful musicians, The Capital Jazz Trio, great food and a
helpful and enthusiastic staff on hand. We had a wonderful time seeing the new facility, meeting the staff and greeting other guests.  Visiting Angels wants to wish the Hebrew Home continued success and Mazel Tov.
