Jones Receives Surprise NAACP Recognition

The City Manager has been member of the local branch for three and a half years.

City Manager Angel Jones received a surprise recognition from the Montgomery County branch of the NAACP at Monday night's meeting.

Lawrence Cross, membership director, recognized Jones for her accomplishments during her three and a half years of service with the local branch.

Jones, who is on the Executive Committee and chairs the Freedom Fund Dinner Committee, has been a member of the NAACP for many years prior to moving to Montgomery County, she said.

Cross said Jones has been an outstanding leader, and this year helped break a record for money raised at the Freedom Fund Dinner.
