North Potomac Resident is One of 'America's Hottest Husbands'

North Potomac scientist named as finalist in Redbook magazine's online contest.

Catherine Huang’s husband’s abs—and the fact that he enjoys long chats and cooking family meals—could earn the North Potomac couple a four-night stay in Curacao if Redbook readers believe he’s “America’s Hottest Husband.”

Austin Huang, 34, a scientist and a triathlete, is one the 25 finalists in Redbook magazine’s 2014 America’s Hottest Husbands contest. The top 25 were gleaned from 1,500 submissions and 6,500 votes, a contest spokeswoman said.

Austin Huang is the only Maryland husband in the running.

His wife, Catherine Huang, was the one who nominated him. They’ve been married nine years and have two young children.

Huang’s contest profile praised him for making family meals, his enjoyment of uninterrupted chats with his wife over coffee and saving the couple’s wedding day after the dry cleaner ruined his wife’s dress.

“They make melt,” Catherine Huang told Redbook.

The “Hottest Husband” contestants are vying for for the trip for two. The winner and runners up will appear in the February issue of Redbook.

But people have to vote online to pick a winner.

The deadline to vote is Oct. 28.
