The Pinots (Ages 21 and Up)

#357807 September 6 at Ross Boddy Community Recreation Center, 7:00 – 10:00 pm.  You’ll create and enjoy a menu that will celebrate the famous family of wine grapes known as the Pinots. From Pinot Noir to Pinot Grigio, to Pinot Muniere , you’ll sample nine different wines as you enjoy the food you have prepared. Come ready to explore a Spanish, French, and American recipe, each that pairs nicely with a Pinot wine. Bring a $20 food fee and your cleansed palate and be ready to explore new flavors!

 Potstickers and Dumplings (Ages 15 and up)

#357808 Sept 14 at Ross Boddy Community Recreation Center, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm. Everyone’s favorite appetizer is surprisingly easy to make, once you know how. Take this recipe home and invite friends or family over for a cooking get together! You will learn how to make the stuffing with shrimp, crab, pork and vegetable. Then you will become a master at folding and sealing the dumplings so that they do not fall apart when cooking. You’ll even cover where to buy the pastry sheets and what kind to buy! Bring an appetite and the $20 food fee for the instructor.

It’s been a long, hot summer filled with work, camp, and other business. Now it’s time to spend some quality family time together.  “Annie” at the Allenberry Playhouse in Boiling Springs, PA

In this Tony Award-winning musical, the audience falls in love with an orphan named Annie as we watch her help a stern, but rich Oliver Warbucks turn into a warm and loving father. Kids will enjoy watching their peers perform in this professional production and adults will find themselves singing along to the songs. Enjoy a buffet lunch on the trip and make lasting family memories at the Allenberry Playhouse.

 Youth Fall Flag Football

Boys and girls ages 4 to 12 can experience the excitement and energy of flag football with a focus on safety and good sportsmanship through this program run by certified coaches and i9 Sports. No experience is necessary and there are no try outs! Kids will learn about the rules of the game and experience 8 weeks of fun and safe play. Program fee is $145 and starts September 7th in Germantown, Clarksburg and Gaithersburg. Adapted Volleyball Clinics for Veterans

This clinic is only open to veterans and offers two hours of instruction on individual skills and game strategies. Experienced coaches will make adjustments as needed for all ability levels. Participants will learn how to serve, receive shots, and spike during drills and demos. (6 Sessions, $20)

Tour the Salisbury Pewter and Sterling Factory and Riverboat Cruise Luncheon

The Salisbury Pewter and Sterling Factory was established in 1979 and produces collections that capture the spirit of American life including pieces that have been commissioned by the White House for State Dinners. After the tour we will board a paddlewheeler for a two-hour cruise that includes narrations about the “old steamboat days” and crab cake and fried chicken lunch with dessert.

 Canoe Trip Through the Jug Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
