BC Steak and Silver Birch Bar Open Their Doors in Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg’s Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse, which closed its doors in February 2014 is being replaced by a new steakhouse restaurant and bar that opens March 17. A classic steakhouse with a twist, BC Steak and Silver Birch Bar both feature an upscale ski lodge atmosphere that delivers high-quality fare at an affordable price. Located at 15710 Shady Grove Road, the new restaurant and bar are designed to appeal to young professionals while staying true to Bugaboo Creek’s family-friendly roots.

“We are thrilled to bring a new dining destination to the Gaithersburg area that gives a fresh perspective to the classic American steakhouse,” said Bill Burnett, president of BC Steak. “The BC Steak concept was borne from years of steakhouse experience, which has allowed us to hone the craft. BC Steak worked closely with culinary experts to design a mouthwatering menu featuring steakhouse classics such as a blue cheese bacon filet, chopped salad and burgers in addition to exciting new offerings. For those looking to venture from traditional favorites, guests can also taste items like the sautéed whiskey shrimp featuring house-made bourbon based, mustard cream sauce, Maryland style crab cake, prepared fresh daily with lump crab meat and flavorful cedar plank salmon marinated in soy and glazed with sweet mustard.

The chic lounge atmosphere of the Silver Birch Bar creates the perfect destination for the after-work and late-night crowd looking to unwind. The bar, housed in a separate space within the restaurant and open for extended hours, features a comfortable lounge area, shuffleboard tables and darts.  In addition to the full food menu, patrons can enjoy an expanded selection of wines by the glass or bottle, local craft beers and signature cocktails. The cocktail program is one to tout, introducing drinks such as the BC signature martini, made with house-infused cranberry and orange vodka, and The Silver Birch (formerly known as Moose Juice), made with fresh, sweet pineapples. Happy hour specials on select beverages and small plates will be offered Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entertainment, game nights and game-day specials will run year round.
