POLL: Do You Wanna Wawa?

The Pennsylvania-based gas station chain could be coming to this area.

News from the International Council of Shopping Centers Mid-Atlantic Conference has filtered out that Wawa, a convenience store/gas station chain, could be expanding into the DC area.

Wawa has a strong following of customers in Pennsylvania, where it's based, and equally strong competition from Sheetz, a similar chain of gas stations.

Often open 24-hours, the one-stop-shops both offer a surprisingly wide variety of made to order food that, from experience, isn't your typical gas station food.

Would you like to see a Wawa in this area? How about a Sheetz? How about both?

Take our poll and let us know!

I moved here from Pennsylvania and I miss the Wawa. They're so wonderful! I would be thrilled if one was in Gaithersburg!

Having grown up in NJ and PA with a Wawa on virtually every street corner, I could not be more excited at the prospect! Great sandwiches and convenience foods as well as their own dairy and ice cream products... top it all off with AMAZING coffee!!

"I'd prefer a Sheetz" - classic Pittsburgh answer and I'm on that train. Either way, getting WaWa down here would be sweet.

WaWa? Yes please. I hope they do better than before -- the one in College Park closed years ago, to my sadness. Unfortunately, Cluck U took a dive too. Why does College Park hate me?!
