Since the slaying of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teen in Florida several weeks ago by the captain of a neighborhood watch, the nation has been pondering how it could have happened.
George Zimmerman, the man who pulled the trigger, has never been arrested, despite outrage from , athletes, celebrities and politicians. Even President Obama has weighed in.
Zimmerman is free in part because of Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground law, which give greater legal leeway to people--like Zimmerman--who claim they acted in self-defense.
