Armed Robbery at Gaithersburg Middle School, Residential Burglaries

A summary of recent crimes reported in the Gaithersburg area.

P1 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 100 block of Fox Trail Terrace in Gaithersburg on Tuesday, 2/22.  Suspects forced entry and removed property.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 100 block of Fox Trail Terrace in Gaithersburg on Tuesday, 2/22.  Police discovered the burglary while responding to an alarm.  Investigation is ongoing into these events.

  • A strong-arm robbery was reported in the 700 block of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg on Saturday, 2/26 around 10:15 p.m.  The victim advised he was approached by the suspects who commented on his appearance and then began striking him.  The suspects stole his property.

Suspect:   B/M 5’7” to 5’8”, dredlocks, white tee shirt

Suspect:   B/M 6’6” to 6’7”, Mohawk, all black clothing

Suspect:   H/M ponytail, all black clothing

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 600 block of West Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg on Sunday, 2/27 around 4:45 a.m.  After a vehicle collision, the suspect exited his vehicle and hit the victim before police arrival.  Both were transported to the hospital.  Investigation is ongoing.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 900 block of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg on Monday, 2/28.  This incident was domestic-related. 

 

R1 Beat:

  • A robbery occurred in the parking lot in the 18600 block of Walkers Choice Road in Montgomery Village on Tuesday 3/1 at 10:45 p.m.  After completing a legitimate delivery, a driver was confronted by two suspects who demanded the cash.  A weapon was implied but not displayed.  After obtaining property, the suspects fled on foot.

Both Suspects:   B/Ms 6’0”, cloth over their faces, all black clothing

 

R2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10200 block of Crested Iris Drive in Montgomery Village on Saturday, 2/26 between 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.  Suspects entered the residence and removed property.  No signs of force used.

 

S1 Beat:

  • An armed robbery occurred on the playground of Gaithersburg Middle School, 2 Teachers Way in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, 2/23 around 5:15 p.m.  Four suspects surrounded the victim and one suspect displayed a weapon.  They knocked the victim to the ground and took his property.  One defendant was arrested nearby.  Investigation is ongoing.

Defendant: M, 18 years of Gaithersburg

Suspects: H/Ms 20-30 years, 5’6” to 5’10”

  • An aggravated assault occurred on Crestwood Drive in Gaithersburg on Sunday, 2/27.  This incident was domestic-related.
  • A residential burglary occurred on Sanders Court in Gaithersburg on Monday, 2/21.  Suspects forced entry into the residence and removed property.  An alert neighbor observed a suspect.

Suspect:   H/M 5’5”, blue or turquoise hoody

  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 8900 block of Edgewood Drive in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, 2/23.  Suspects forced entry but no entry was made.  No property reported missing.   
  • A residential apartment burglary occurred on Mc Causland Place in Gaithersburg on Sunday, 2/27 between 11:00 a.m. and 9:50 p.m.  Suspects entered the residence and removed property.  Investigation is ongoing.

 

S2 Beat:

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 18300 block of Streamside Drive in Gaithersburg on Saturday, 2/26.  This argument is between known parties.  Victim was cut several times and the suspect was arrested at the scene.

Defendant: Fernando Reyes   H/M age 21, no address noted.

  • An aggravated assault occurred on a Ride-On bus traveling in the area of Crabbs Branch Way and Shady Grove Road in Rockville on Monday, 2/28 between 10:00 - 10:30 p.m.  The victim advised he was attacked by two suspects.  No further information is available at this time. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 8200 block of Shady Spring Drive in Gaithersburg on Monday, 2/28 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m.  Suspects forced entry into the residence and removed property.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 19900 block of Tygart Lane in Gaithersburg on Tuesday, 3/1.  Suspects entered the residence and removed property.  There was no sign of forced entry.
