Crime Report: Three Attempted Murders, Two Roberries, Five Burglaries

The following information was supplied by Montgomery County Police. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

This crime summary is from the weekly report for April 23 through May 1 from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District station, which covers Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village.

An armed robbery occurred at an apartment building under construction at 434 Allied Road in Gaithersburg—next to the Hidden Creek community—at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24. Three men threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. The first suspects is described as a black male 18 to 21 years old, 5’6” to 5’8” tall and wearing a black sweatshirt with white writing. The second suspect is described as a black male 18 to 21 years old, 5’5” to 5’8” tall and with a thin build. The third suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 18 to 21 years old, 5’6” to 5’8” tall.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the parking lot of Lakeforest mall in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, around 6:45 p.m. on April 25. Two males assaulted the victim and obtained property. The first suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, 170 pounds with short hair. The second suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, 5’10” to 6’ tall, 160 pounds with dreadlocks.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9600 block of Brassie Way between 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 and 3 p.m. Thursday, April 26. Forced entry; property taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Dollar Tree in the Montgomery Village Plaza, 18258 Contour Road in Montgomery Village, between 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 26 and 6 a.m. on Friday, April 27. Forced entry; nothing taken.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 10100 block of Ridgeline Drive in Montgomery Village just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26. The suspect was assaulted and threatened with a weapon.  Police arrested Charvon Williams, 30, of the 20000 block of Dunstable Ct in Germantown. He is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, and one count of second-degree assault. Williams was released April 30 after posting a $25,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing May 25 in Montgomery County District Court.

A residential burglary occurred in the 19100 block of Capehart Drive in Northgate at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 28. Unknown means of entry; unknown if anything was taken.

An aggravated assault between known parties occurred on Saturday, April 28 in the 9300 block of Jarrett Court, in North Village. Police arrested Brantley Myers, 34, of the 200 block of N. Wayne St. in Arlington. He is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of reckless endangerment. Myers was released after posting $60,000 bond, and has a preliminary hearing June 1 in Montgomery County District Court

An aggravated assault occurred in the 200 block of Bookham Lane, Gaithersburg just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25. Police arrested Mathew Braxton, 27, of the 200 block of Bookham Lane. He is charged with one count each of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. He was ordered held without bond, and has a preliminary hearing May 25 in Montgomery County District Court.

An attempted burglary occurred at Forest Oak Middle School, 651 Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard, in Gaithersburg between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Thursday, April 26. Attempted entry; nothing taken. 

A residential burglary occurred in the 18300 block of Streamside Drive, Gaithersburg around 11:10 a.m. on Friday, April 27. Forced entry; nothing taken. The first suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 16 to 18 years old, 5’8” to 5’9” tall, 140 to 150 pounds, and black hair in a ponytail. The second suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 18 to 20 years old, 5’2” to 5’4” tall, 120 to 130 pounds, and short black hair.

A commercial burglary occurred at Advance Auto Parts, 18208 Flower Hill Way, in Flower Hill between 9 p.m. Sunday, April 29 and at 4:30 a.m. Monday, April 30. Forced entry; undisclosed property taken.
