Crime Summary: Machete Attack, Group Robbery, and Indecent Exposure

The following arrest information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

P1 Beat:

  • No significant activity.

 

P2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 11400 block of Game Preserve Road in Gaithersburg between Friday, 8/12 and Monday, 8/13.  Suspects forced entry into residence and removed property.

 

R1 Beat:

  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9200 block of Hummingbird Terrace in Gaithersburg on Sunday, 8/14.  Suspects attempted entry into the residence but were unable to gain entry.  No property stolen.
  • A sex assault was reported to have occurred outside of Southlakes Elementary School, 18201 Contour Road in Montgomery Village on Saturday, 8/13.  This incident was domestic-related.  Investigation is ongoing.
  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 1800 block of Singing Pine Circle in Montgomery Village on Tuesday, 8/16 around 4:25 p.m. and involved roommates.  The adult male owner arrived home and began arguing with two of his tenants outside until one of the tenants brandished a machete.  The tenants then went in the home and locked the owner out.  One of the tenants then pointed a long gun at the victim from a second floor window.  An ERT callout was initiated and after about an hour, both of the tenants surrendered without incident. Two defendants were charged.

R2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10100 block of Little Pond Place in Montgomery Village on Sunday, 8/14 between 6:30 – 11:00 p.m.  Suspects forced entry and removed property.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9900 block of Forest View Place in Montgomery Village on Thursday, 8/11 between 7:45 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Suspects forced entry into the residence and removed property.
  • A residential burglary occurred on Travis Court in Gaithersburg on Saturday, 8/13.  Suspects entered the unlocked residence and removed property.
  • A commercial burglary occurred at the Montgomery Village Pool, 10101 Apple Ridge Road in Montgomery Village between Saturday, 8/13 and Sunday, 8/14.  Suspects forced entry into the office.  Lockers and an office desk were searched, but no property was stolen. 
  • An indecent exposure occurred at the community pool located at 19401 Brassie Way in Montgomery Village on Sunday, 8/14.  The suspect exited the shower area completely naked to ask a female lifeguard for more soap.

Suspect:   B/M 35-45 years, 5’8” to 5’10”, 160-180, short hair

 

S1 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred near the soccer field at Gaithersburg Elementary School, 35 North Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg on Thursday 8/11 around 10:50 p.m.  The adult male victim was attacked by five suspects who stole his property and fled.  The next day, the victim saw the suspects in the same area and contacted police.  One suspect was positively identified and arrested. 

Defendant: M, 16 years of Gaithersburg

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 16600 block of Oakmont Avenue in Gaithersburg on Monday, 8/14 around 6 p.m.  The only information available is a H/M attempted to run over the victim with his Toyota Camry. 
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 100 block of Linden Hall Lane in Gaithersburg overnight on Saturday, 8/13.  Unknown suspects entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a GPS unit.     

S2 Beat:

  • A theft of vehicle parts occurred in the airpark area, specifically the 7900 and 8000 blocks of Cessna Avenue in Gaithersburg overnight on Tuesday, 8/9.  All three vehicles had catalytic converters stolen.  All three were Chevy products (trucks & vans). 
  • A commercial burglary occurred in the 16700 block of Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville between Monday, 8/15 and Tuesday, 8/16.  Suspects forced entry into the construction trailer and removed property.
