Four Hospitalized After Wreck on Shady Grove Road

No one faced life-threatening injuries, battalion chief said.

A three-car collision Sunday at Shady Grove and Frederick roads sent four people to the hospital, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said.

No one faced life-threatening injuries from the noontime wreck, Battalion Chief Jim Resnick said.

The incident involved a sports utility vehicle and two sedans. The SUV, a Mercury Mountaineer, flipped over, causing a small fuel leak. By about 1 p.m., the SUV was upright. Other details were not immediately available.

An adult male and female were taken from the SUV, a Mercury Mountaineer, and sent to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Resnick said. Two people from one of the sedans, a Toyota Solara, were taken to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, he said.

Two others refused to go to any hospital, he said.
