Gaithersburg Crime: Armed Robberies, Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police released a crime summary last week for May 14 through May 22. The following incidents were reported in Gaithersburg:

An aggravated assault occurred on the Lakeforest Bus stop in Gaithersburg on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:42 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim with a weapon.

A commercial burglary occured a KC Jewelers, located at 405 N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, on Friday, May 18 at approximately 4:20 a.m. Entry to the store was forced and property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9200 block of La Belle Lane in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, May 16 between 7:30-7:47 a.m. Entry to the home was forced and property was taken.

An armed robbery occured at Griffith Park, located at 29 S. Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, on Wednesday, May 16 shortly after 1 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. A 16-year-old Gaithersburg male was arrested.

An armed robbery occurred in the unit block of Grantchester Place in Gaithersburg on Saturday, May 19 between 12:45-2 a.m.The suspect displayed a weapon and obtained property from the victim. Police say the suspect is a black male, age 20-30, between 6 feet 3 inches and 6 feet 4 inches, and was wearing a grey hoodie and black jacket.

An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 18200 block of Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg on Thursday, May 17 at approximately 7:15 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property. Police say the suspect is a white male, age 19-22, with a goatee and short black hair.

A residential burglary occurred in the 7500 block of Elioak Terrace in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, May 16 between noon and 3 p.m. Entry to the home was forced and property was taken.
