Gaithersburg Crime: Burglaries, Assaults, Vehicle-Related Thefts

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police released a crime summary on Thursday for May 7 through May 15. The following incidents were reported in Gaithersburg:

A residential burglary occurred in the 500 block of Summit Hall Road on Thursday, May 10 at an unknown time. The suspect, 29, of no fixed address, was arrested and is known to the victim.

A residential burglary occurred in the 400 block of Blue Silk Lane on Sunday, May 13 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Entry to the home was forced and property was taken.

A strong arm robbery occurred at Travis Lane and Travis Court on Saturday, May 12 around 12:30 a.m. The victim was assaulted and had property taken.

A burglary occurred in the 300 block of North Summit Avenue between Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m. and Friday, May 11 at 8 a.m. Entry was forced but nothing was taken.

Five vehicle-related thefts ocurred overnight between Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 on Crabapple Lane, Crabtree Place and Hallmark Court. Entry to the vehicles was forced but nothing was taken.

An assault occurred on Tuesday, May 15 between 3:45 and 5 p.m. in the 7600 block of Laytonia Drive. A 16-year-old male from Gaithersburg was arrested and charged.
