It is not clear if the brakes played a role in the crash, state police told the News-Post.

Jose C. Cedillo, 37, of Gaithersburg, the front-seat passenger in the pickup, was discharged Tuesday from University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he had been flown after the crash, a hospital spokeswoman told the News-Post.

Two men — one from Gaithersburg, one from Derwood — were killed Monday afternoon in Frederick County after a tractor trailer overturned onto their pickup truck, according to Maryland State Police.

Police identified the deceased victims as Hector N.C. Henriquez, 46, of Gaithersburg, and Jose R. Diaz, 54, of Derwood. Henriquez was driving a Ford F-450 truck and Diaz was a passenger in the left rear seat, police said. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also identified Jose C. Cedillo, 37, of Gaithersburg, as the front passenger in the Ford truck. Cedillo was transported by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the tractor trailer involved in the crash was identified as Watson Pierre, 34, of Sunrise, FL, police said. Pierre was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the Shock Trauma Center where he was treated and released.

Upon Pierre's release, he was arrested and charged with two counts of criminally negligent homicide and one count of failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

The crash — which occurred Monday shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Rt. 75 at Ed McClain Road, north of New Market and south of Libertytown, in Frederick County — is still under investigation.
