Gaithersburg Man Killed in Germantown Collision

The man was walking when a Lexus struck her on Germantown Road.

A Gaithersburg man was struck and killed last night in Germantown, police said.

Dominique G. McFarlane-Chase, 20, of the 800 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard, was crossing the southbound lanes of Germantown Road (Route 118) near the intersection with Aircraft Road around 12:50 a.m. this morning, according to police.

While in the roadway, a silver 2000 Lexus ES 300 traveling south on Germantown Road struck him, police said. The driver remained on the scene.

McFarlane-Chase was taken to Suburban Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the driver of the Lexus as Leonard Mensah of the 14100 block of Tattershall Place in Germantown.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed this fatal pedestrian collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435. Callers may remain anonymous.
