Gaithersburg Police Looking For Armed Robbery Suspect

Detectives are asking for the public's assistance to identify a possible suspect in an armed robbery incident that occurred at the bus stop located on South Frederick Avenue and South Summit Avenue on Jan. 13.

Gaithersburg police are hoping the public can help identify a possible suspect in an armed robbery incident that occurred at the bus stop located on South Frederick Avenue and South Summit Avenue on Jan. 13.

On Jan. 13 at approximately 9:51 p.m., an unknown male approached the victim at the bus stop and began engaging her in conversation, police said. During the conversation, the unknown male brandished a knife and took the victim’s purse, fleeing on foot. 

The suspect has been described by police as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, with a goatee or a beard. He was last seen wearing a dark green jacket and blue jeans, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this robbery or the suspect involved to contact the Gaithersburg Police Investigations Section at 301-258-6400. Crimes Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
