Several businesses and slightly less than two dozen people have been evacuated, according to Montgomery County Fire Department spokesman Scott Graham. Snouffer School Road is shut down in the area of TW Perry.

The leak sprang from a valve line off of a transmission main, Graham said. Washington Gas is attempting to control the flow by crimping the affected line.
